THE INSIDE SCOOP

While researching little-known stories about New York City, I stumbled across information about James Leeson’s grave in the cemetery of Trinity Church. The gravestone has cryptic symbols carved on it as well as a code that took nearly a century to decipher. So while visiting NYC on a research trip, I decided to visit the site myself. The gravestone is still there. The decoded inscription reads, “Remember death.” 

The grave marker, the code, and the message all inspired me to come up with the final story in the Patrick Bowers series. The story is a culmination of story threads that have woven through Every Crooked Path and Every Deadly Kiss, as well as the prequel to the chess series. To new readers and old fans alike, I think you’ll enjoy the twists and turns of Patrick’s final adventure.
